Beetopia is managed by Eleanor Rae who has been a beekeeper for over fifteen years. She has a Certificate in Queen Bee Breeding, is DECA and AP2 trained and has a Diploma in Teaching.
Our breeder queens are selected through careful observation of brood quality, quietness on the frame, working in adverse weather and quantity of stores. We are constantly striving for better queens.
The education of the younger generation about the vital role of pollinators is something Eleanor undertakes when visiting local schools.
